Pedon Soil Tape

A Pedon tape (also called a soil profile tape or soil picture tape) is a purpose-built measuring tape for describing soil profiles in the field. Hang it in the pit, read horizon depths directly from the face, and record your description without juggling a folding rule or a contractor's tape that was never meant for dirt.
